Paulo Ferreira has said that he is hoping to produce a much better performance against Gareth Bale this time around. The Portugal international was humiliated by Bale, who scored one of the goals, when Spurs beat Chelsea 2-1 in April.

Ferreira admits Bale should now be regarded as one of the best players in the world but is confident he will get the better of him this time around.

He told a Soccer mag “If I have to play against Gareth Bale again, I will be ready. I will try to give everything. He did very well against me last April but let's see what he will do this time.

“He is in great shape and it will be difficult to mark him but Spurs are not just about Bale. They have a good team as well. He is a very quick player and it is hard to keep up with him."
