EPL FEBRUARY PLAYER OF THE MONTH AWARD

New Manchester United January signing Bruno Fernandez alongside five other players have been shortlisted for February player of the month award.

Fernandez joined Manchester United from Sporting CP during the winter transfer window and has made the shortlist in his first month in the English Premier league.

He played two league games in February. He inspired his team to victory against Chelsea and Watford. Man Utd won 2-0 at Stamford Bridge, Martial opened the scoring before Harry Maguire added the second from Fernandez’s corner. He also converted a spot kick in their win against Watford. Fernandez’s early exploits with the Red Devils has earned him praise from former Chelsea and Portugal right back, Paulo Ferreira. The former Portugal international praised Fernandez’s attitude, stating the player has settled in perfectly into his new environment.

Bruno Fernandez is joined by Arsenal captain, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, the Gabonese returned from a three-match suspension to score three goals in February. He opened the scoring in the club’s 4-0 victory over Newcastle before adding another brace in the 3-2 win over Everton.

Next on the list is Dominic Calvert Lewin, the English man has been impressive with his club this season. He scored in the first minute in Everton’s 3-2 loss at the Emirates stadium. Calvert Lewin is in line to be awarded a new long-term contract.

Chelsea left back Marcos Alonso joins the list. The left back has been reduced to bit part role under Frank Lampard, but he scored crucial goals for the club in his two league matches in February.

Wolves wing-back Matt Doherty was another who got among the goals in February. He got an assist as his team beat Norwich and netted in a 3-2 win against Tottenham.

Doherty was also part of a stingy defense, as they kept three clean sheets. Nick Pope completed the list, as he helped his side go unbeaten all through the month.
