FERNANDES WANTS TO BE LIKE INIESTA

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has named former Barcelona man Andres Iniesta as one player he admires and whose career heights he aspires to. The Portuguese since his arrival at Old Trafford has sparked up a revival.

He joined the club from Sporting Lisbon for about 50 million pounds in January 2020, and has helped the Red Devils save their previously tanking season with under pressure manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

After nine games, Bruno has netted three times, assisting four and winning the Premier League Player of the Month for February. He explains that he wants to be like the former Spaniard as he was a mix between a number 8 and a number 10. He also wants to always have the ball, take risks and create chances, he explains.

He adds that it is difficult for him to believe that Iniesta never won the Ballon d’Or award despite his impressive career.

Fans are eager to see Paul Pogba return to action and partner Fernandes. The Frenchman remains linked with a return to Juventus or a switch to Real Madrid. However, former United star Mark Bosnich opines that the duo will be a force to contend with if he remain in the Premier League.

United are hoping to land Harry Kane, which will be a big boost to their goalscoring. The team already has options in the wings, with a partnership of Pogba and Fernandes, decent defenders and world class goalkeeper, United have a lot of hope.
